Description
Number 8 is a house dating from the late 18th century, with additions made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and white brick, topped with a roof made of pantiles and slate. The building features three gable stacks and a single ridge brick stack. The mid-19th century street-facing front is two stories high and has three bays. The central entrance consists of a panel door with an overlight, set in a moulded surround with a bracketed hood. On either side of the door are tall tripartite plain sash windows, which are framed by moulded iron cill railings. At the rear, the 18th-century wing has a south-facing front that includes an off-centre bricked-up doorway, flanked by two single 2-light casement windows with wooden lintels. Above these, there are two 2-light sliding sash windows with glazing bars. To the west, there is a single-storey range of outbuildings.
