Description

This is a 17th-century farmhouse, dated and inscribed with the initials “I.H. K.H. 1664” on the lintel. The farmhouse is constructed of clay walls, now cement rendered. The roof is of graduated Welsh slate with lower courses of sandstone slates, and includes brick chimney stacks. It has two storeys and three bays. The original cross-passage entrance retains a chamfered surround beneath a shaped lintel, dated and inscribed with a hood mould. Sash windows are set within 19th-century painted stone surrounds on the ground floor, and original painted surrounds on the upper floors. The interior features a chamfered-surround entrance from the cross passage. A brick barn to the left and rear extensions are not of historical interest.
