Description
The Old Mill is a water corn mill dated 1834, as inscribed over the millrace arch. It is constructed of hammer-dressed red sandstone with flush quoins and features a greenslate roof that has been repaired with Welsh slates, though many slates are missing. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, including a two-storey single-bay central gabled projection and a single-storey lean-to on the left side. The front has half-doors made of sandstone with an unglazed opening above. The projection on the right side contains small square windows. The extreme right section is built over the mill race and has two arched water channels. Inside, there is an undershot water wheel and some machinery. At the time of the survey, the mill was derelict and unoccupied.
