Description

Chapel House is a mid-18th century farmhouse that incorporates elements of an earlier building. The rear of the earlier house has a lintel inscribed with the date I.R. 1688, suggesting its construction. The farmhouse is built of painted brick with V-jointed quoins on a chamfered plinth, and has a graduated greenslate roof with a bottom course of sandstone slates, along with brick chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and has four bays. A 20th century door is set within a round-arched surround with a false keystone. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within painted stone architraves. The rear wall features a three-light chamfered mullioned window and a small, chamfered fire window.
