Description

Low Dockrayrigg is a farmhouse dated 1810, with the initials J & M.B (Banks) inscribed above the entrance. It features sandstone rubble walls topped with a graduated greenslate roof, which has an ashlar chimney stack on the right and a brick chimney on the left. The building is two storeys high and has two bays. The entrance includes a 20th-century door set within a painted stone architrave and is topped by a pediment. The windows are sash style, framed in painted stone surrounds, and there is a tripartite staircase window at the rear. An L-shaped extension and barns to the left are not of interest.
