Description

Old Farmhouse, with cottage and attached barns, dates from the early 18th century, with the date 1715 scratched on the jamb of a door at the rear. The cottage is from the 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a concrete tile roof on the main body and extension to the right, and a barn at the rear left. The cottage has a roof that is part slate and part limestone, while the barn at the rear right has a corrugated asbestos roof. There are 20th-century artificial stone stacks on both the farmhouse and cottage.

The farmhouse has a rectangular main body with an extension running parallel on the right, and a barn extending back from the extension at the rear right. The cottage is attached to the rear left-hand corner of the main body, with a partially converted barn at the rear, creating a U-shaped plan. The two-storey farmhouse features three windows; it has 1, 2, 3, and 4-light stone-mullioned casements, with the latter including transoms and ovolo mouldings. There is a 20th-century bay window on the lower right, and all windows except the bay have stopped hoods. The front door is a partially glazed 6-panel design, set beneath a decorated wrought iron porch in the Regency style. The end wall of the attached cottage has 19th-century 2-light stone-mullioned windows. The barn at the rear left has flat gable coping with a roll-cross saddle on the gable end. The interiors have not been inspected.
