Description

BATSFORD DORN SP 23 SW 5/17 Old Farmhouse, with cottage and attached barns 25.8.60 GV II Farmhouse, cottage and barns. Farmhouse and barns early C18. 1715 scratched on jamb of door at rear. C19 cottage. Coursed squared and dressed limestone. Concrete tile roof to main body and extension right and barn rear left. Part slate part limestone roof to cottage. Corrugated asbestos roof to barn rear right. C20 artificial stone stacks to farmhouse and cottage. Farmhouse, rectangular main body with extension running parallel on right. Barn extending back from extension rear right. Cottage attached to rear left-hand corner of main body with partially converted barn at rear. The whole forming a U-shaped plan. 2-storey farmhouse, 3-windowed; 1, 2, 3 and 4-light stone-mullioned casements the latter with transoms and ovolo mouldings. C20 bay window lower right. All windows except bay with stopped hoods. Part glazed 6- panel front door with decorated wrought iron Regency style porch. C19 2-light stone-mullioned windows in end wall of cottage attached left. Flat gable coping with roll-cross saddle on gable end of barn rear left. Interiors not inspected.
