Description

Cedar Cottage and Home Farmhouse are located on Finstock High Street and date from the mid-to-late 17th century, with 18th and 19th century additions. The buildings are constructed of coursed limestone rubble and feature a plain tile roof. The farmhouse has a three-unit plan, while the adjoining cottage has a two-unit plan.

The farmhouse is one storey with an attic and two storeys overall, featuring an off-centre stone ridge stack to the right. There are two raking semi-dormers to the left, each with 2-light wooden casements, although the leftmost window has been replaced by a 20th-century plate-glass window. A 20th-century boarded door is located between the first and second windows from the right, with a gabled 20th-century porch above it. To the right, there is a lower addition with one storey and a gable-lit attic, which has a half-hipped roof, a 2-light wooden casement to the left, and a boarded door to the right with a three-part rectangular overlight.

The cottage, which adjoins the farmhouse on the left, has a central stone ridge stack and a two-window front. It features 2-light wooden casements to the right and a one-light casement to the left, all with wooden lintels. A 20th-century half-glazed door is off-centre to the left, accompanied by a semi-circular domed bread-oven projection to the right and a lean-to porch covering both. There is also a two-storey addition to the left with a boarded door. The interiors have not been inspected.
