Description

Webb’s Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse, with 18th-century additions, now used as a house. It is constructed of rendered and painted coursed limestone rubble with a stone slate roof. The main block is two storeys and has an attic, with flanking two-storey wings. A rendered integral end stack is located to the right and an external rendered stack to the left of the central block. Two gabled dormers contain two-light wooden casements. The front elevation features three bays, with two-light wooden casements and cross windows to the first floor. To the right is a lower addition with a rendered integral end stack and two-window front, also incorporating two-light wooden casements. A further addition is set back to the left, also with a rendered integral end stack and a two-light casement on each floor. At the rear is a one-storey lean-to, containing an entrance. The interior was not inspected, but the owner reports a large open fireplace with a wooden lintel on the right-hand ground floor.
