Description
Stonehaven and Barnsfield Cottage is a house that has been divided, dating from the mid 17th century with 18th century and late 20th century additions. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has a T-plan layout positioned at right angles to the road, with extensions to both the east and west.
The south front has a late 20th century brick ridge stack located off-centre to the left and displays a five-window arrangement featuring 2-light wooden casements with wooden lintels. There is a late 20th century half-glazed door situated between the second and third windows from the left. To the right, there is a later addition with a brick ridge stack, and to the left, a late 20th century addition.
At the rear, a 17th century gabled stair tower is positioned off-centre to the right and includes a 2-light wooden casement and a late 20th century panelled door to the left. There is a straight joist located off-centre to the left, which separates the 17th century and 18th century sections of the house. The interior has not been inspected.
