Description
This is a cottage dating from the early to mid-18th century, constructed from roughly squared and coursed limestone with a stone slate roof. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high. On the right side, there is an external stone end stack with chamfered offsets and a brick top stage, while the left side features an integral end stack that has been rebuilt above the roof in 20th-century reconstituted stone.
The front of the cottage has two windows; the upper floor has leaded metal casements in wooden frames with stone cills and flat stone arches, featuring two lights, while the ground floor has three lights. There is a central boarded door also with a flat stone arch. To the right, a straight joint divides the cottage from the ruins of a former adjoining cottage, which is not included in this listing. The right-hand end stack has an open fireplace at its base with a wooden lintel, which was previously used to heat the ground floor room of the ruined cottage. The interior has not been inspected.
