Description

Two houses, numbers 50 and 52, form the eastern end of a terrace on Scotland Road, located in Stanwix, Carlisle. They were built in the late 19th century. The houses are constructed of English garden wall bond brickwork with a chamfered brick plinth, and feature brick modillions at the eaves. The roof is slate, and retains original brick chimney stacks. Each house has two bays and two storeys, representing a mirrored pair. They have paired panelled doors with fanlights, set within round brick arches supported by engaged colonettes. Canted bay windows are present, with sash windows above, although the windows on number 50 are 20th-century casements. The interiors have not been inspected.
