Description

This is an early 18th-century cottage located on the east side of Careys Road in Paulerspury. The construction is of coursed limestone rubble with a straw thatch roof and brick end stacks. The cottage has a 2-unit plan and a 2-storey, 1-window front. The ground floor has a 3-light casement window with a timber lintel on the left side. A plinth and quoins are visible externally. A 20th-century timber porch provides access to the right side, and a small single-storey extension has been added to the rear left. Inside, the cottage retains several original features including chamfered spine beams and joists, an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, old stud partitions, plank doors, a winder stair, and a collar-truss roof.
