Description

This is an 18th-century cottage located on the south side of Main Street in Cottesmore. The cottage is constructed of coursed rubble stone with a thatched roof and red brick end stacks. The gable faces the street. The front elevation has one-and-a-half storeys, featuring three two-light casement windows on the left side. On the ground floor to the right is a horizontal sliding sash window, and three later two-light dormers are also present. A porch is situated to the centre-left, and a part-glazed door with a buttress to its left occupies the centre-right. Two windows are blocked up on the right gable end facing the street. A hipped, thatched roofed extension is evident on the left end of the building. A two-light window is present at the rear. Inside, a long, large chamfered ceiling beam and an inglenook fireplace with a massive beam are notable features.
