Description

No. 53 on Main Street is a cottage dating from the 17th or early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble stone and features a thatched roof with moulded stone stacks at each end. The building has one and a half storeys and includes three 2-light casement windows. There are also an eyebrow dormer with one light and another with two lights above. The porch, located to the left, has a 20th-century door. Inside, the cottage has chamfered beams and an inglenook fireplace with a painted stone hood, which may be an early feature.
