Description
This is an 18th-century cottage located on the north side of Scriveners Lane, Paulerspury. The cottage is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, with brick end stacks and a corrugated iron roof that replaced a previous thatch covering. It originally comprised two units and features a two-storey, single-window front. The ground floor has a three-light casement window with a timber lintel centered to the left, a blocked window with a timber lintel to the right, and a two-light casement window with brick jambs and a timber lintel to the left of the first floor. A single-storey brick extension projects from the rear left side, containing a rear entrance. Inside, the cottage retains an ogee stop-chamfered spine beam, an open fireplace, and a collar-truss roof. A brick in one of the stacks is reportedly dated 1724 or 1725.
