Description
The wash house located between numbers 7 and 8 on Welford Road in Chapel Brampton was built around 1848 by E. Blore. It features squared coursed lias with ashlar dressings and has a plain tiled roof. The structure has a one-unit plan and is a single storey. Notable architectural elements include a large three-light casement window with a transom, cast iron diamond panes, and an ashlar surround situated in the end gable. There is a brick and stone stack at one end and a plank door on the side. This wash house is part of a planned layout that includes ten houses and their corresponding wash houses.
