Description
The wash house located between numbers 3 and 4 in Church Brampton was built around 1848 by E. Blore. It features squared coursed lias with ashlar dressings and has a plain tiled roof. The structure has a one-unit plan and is single-storey. A large three-light casement window with a transom, cast iron diamond panes, and an ashlar surround is situated in the end gable. There is a brick and stone stack at the end and a plank door on the side. This wash house is part of a planned layout that includes ten houses and their accompanying wash houses.
