Description
Nos. 6 and 7 are two houses built in 1848 by E. Blore. They are constructed of squared coursed lias with ashlar dressings and have a plain tiled roof. Each house has a two-unit plan and is two stories high, featuring a two-window range of casements with ashlar surrounds and cast iron diamond panes. The bays project slightly forward and are topped with gables. There are rebuilt brick stacks at the ridge, and each gable displays a datestone with the Spencer Arms. The side elevations have gabled porches with four-centred heads and 19th-century ribbed doors. These houses are part of a planned layout that includes ten houses and accompanying wash houses. The interiors have not been inspected.
