Description

This is a mid-18th century house, later altered in the 19th century, now used as two separate dwellings. Originally a three-room-plan structure, it is constructed of regular coursed lias stone with ashlar dressings, and has a patterned plain tiled roof. The front elevation is a two-storey, six-window arrangement. A projecting two-storey porch with a gable was added in the 19th century, situated between the second and third windows from the left. The porch contains an entrance with a four-centred head and a four-panelled door. The windows are casements with glazing bars, set within moulded stone surrounds. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers are present, with a sundial on the left gable. 19th-century ironstone and brick extensions extend from the rear of Brampton Green, while 20th-century alterations are visible at the rear of Brampton Cottage. The principal rooms inside feature fielded panelled shutters.
