Description
6 and 7 Welford Road are two houses built in 1848 by E. Blore. They are constructed from squared coursed lias with ashlar dressings and have plain tiled roofs. Each house has a two-unit plan and is two stories tall, featuring a two-window range of casements with ashlar surrounds and cast iron diamond panes. The bays project forward with gables, and there are rebuilt brick stacks at the ridge. The gables display datestones with the Spencer arms. Each house has a gabled porch on the side elevations, which features 4-centred heads and 19th-century ribbed doors. These houses are part of a planned layout that includes ten houses and wash houses. The interiors have not been inspected.
