Description
This is a wash house built around 1848 by E. Blore, located between numbers 7 and 8 in Church Brampton. It is constructed of squared coursed lias with ashlar dressings and has a plain tiled roof. The building has a one-unit plan and is a single storey. It features a large three-light casement window with a transom, cast iron diamond panes, and an ashlar surround in the end gable. There is a brick and stone stack at one end and a plank door on the side. This wash house is part of a planned layout that includes ten houses and other wash houses in the area.
