Description
This is a house located at 1 Hartwell Road, dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with ironstone dressings, topped by a plain-tile roof and featuring brick end stacks. The house has a central-staircase layout and is two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range on the front.
To the left of the center, there is a part-glazed door with a straight hood, flanked by 12-pane sash windows. The first floor features 16-pane sash windows. All windows and the door are adorned with stone lintels and keyblocks. The building has a chamfered plinth, ironstone quoins, a storey band, and stone-coped gables with kneelers, as well as gabled roof dormers. There are single-storey extensions on both the left and right sides, mostly from the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
