Description
This is a house located at 124 Corn Street, built in the mid-18th century. It features squared and coursed limestone construction and has a gabled stone slate roof with brick stacks at the ends. The house has a two-unit plan and consists of two storeys and an attic, with a two-window range. The front entrance includes a mid-19th century four-panelled door with an overlight, framed by a moulded wood architrave and supported by console-brackets beneath a flat hood. The windows are mid-20th century three-pane sashes, and there are two mid-19th century gabled roof dormers. A 20th-century extension has been added to the rear. Inside, there are open fireplaces with 20th-century lintels, 18th-century doors on the first floor with hinges, winder stairs leading to the attic, and a three-bay collar-truss with butt purlins.
