Description
Garden Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and features a thatched roof with brick chimneys. The building originally had a through passage plan, but the original doorway has been blocked. It stands two storeys high with an attic and consists of three bays. The central doorway, which dates from the 19th century, has a wooden lintel and is accompanied by a 20th-century gabled porch and a plank door. To the left of the entrance, the blocked earlier doorway has a wooden lintel and is flanked by a stone mullioned window with three lights and a square hood. There are similar two-light windows on the first floor. Inside, the cottage has been altered in the 19th century, but the room to the left of the entrance retains chamfered beams and an open fireplace.
