Description

Caracote is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with additions from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with brick and stone stacks and a slate roof. The cottage has two storeys and an attic, arranged in four bays. Windows have wooden lintels and iron and wood casements, some with two or three lights. A 19th-century doorway is topped by a gabled wooden hood supported on brackets. A gabled stair turret extends to the rear; its lower section is semi-circular and has a two-light wooden casement window. Inside, there are chamfered beams and a fireplace with a large arched stone lintel.
