Description
The Cottage is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features a plain-tile roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and consists of two storeys plus an attic, with a three-window range.
The entrance is a four-panel door located to the right of centre, set in a pegged wood surround, with a wood lintel and a straight hood supported by brackets. The ground and first floors have three-light casement windows, each with wood lintels. There is a blocked door to the left of centre, which has been partially filled with a two-light casement window that also has a wood lintel.
Inside, the Cottage features stop-chamfered spine beams and two open fireplaces, each with stop-chamfered bressumers.
