Description
Rookery Cottage is a house that was originally a farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a slate roof with brick stacks at each end. It has a three-unit plan and is two stories tall with a three-window range. The central door, which is from the 20th century, has a wooden lintel above it. To the left of the door is a three-light casement window, and to the right on the ground floor is a similar two-light casement window, with another two-light casement window above on the first floor, all featuring wooden lintels. There is a single-storey extension added in the 20th century to the right side and another at the rear left. Inside, the cottage includes bar-stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
