Description
51 High Street is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ironstone dressings and features a slate roof with brick stacks at the ends. The building has an L-plan layout and consists of two storeys plus an attic, with a three-window range. The central entrance has a modern double-leaf door set beneath a concrete lintel. The ground and first floors have three-light casement windows that are framed with stone surrounds and hood moulds, which are remnants of the original stone mullion windows. To the right and rear, there are single-storey extensions added in the 20th century. Inside, the house features bar-stop-moulded spine beams and ogee-stop-chamfered joists.
