Description
Warden's Cottage, located adjacent to the Youth Hostel on the southwest side of Badby Church Green, is a cottage dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and features a corrugated iron roof with brick end stacks. The cottage has a one-unit plan and stands two storeys tall, with a two-window range. There is a 20th-century door to the left and a three-light casement window to the right, along with two-light casements on the first floor. The door and windows are topped with stop-chamfered timber lintels. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a cambered chamfered bressumer and a boxed spine beam. The plank door leading to the winder staircase is fitted with H-L hinges. The cottage was formerly thatched.
