Description
Dairy Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1625, with later 17th century and 19th century extensions. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and limestone, topped with slate roofs and featuring brick end stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-window range. The older section, which is dated, displays alternating bands of ironstone and limestone and includes a three-light stone mullion window on the left with a hood mould, and a three-light casement window on the right, with a 19th century three-light window above that cuts into the eaves and features a gabled dormer. The left gable end has three-light stone mullion windows with 19th century latticed glazing and hood moulds, and a datestone in the gable above inscribed C/ID/1625, with a stone coped gable and kneelers. The altered or rebuilt section to the right has a central 19th century door, flanked by two-light casements on both the ground and first floors, all with timber lintels. Inside, there is a large stone fireplace with a four-centred arched head and cut spandrels, ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams, and some stop-chamfered joists.
