Description

No. 9 Queen Street is a house from the 17th century that has undergone alterations and additions in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and limestone, with a part-banded design and a slate roof featuring brick end stacks. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic. It has a two-window range, with a central door that has four panels and is partly glazed, topped with a segmental arched head. This door is flanked by 19th-century canted bay windows that contain large pane horned sashes. On the first floor, there are three-light casements. The stone banding is present at the level of the sills of the first-floor windows, with the rest of the wall made of coursed squared ironstone. The building features quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. There is a brick extension from the 19th century to the right and at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
