Description
Earls Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with 19th-century additions. It is constructed from coursed squared ironstone and features a tile roof, with brick end stacks that have stone bases. The building has an L-shaped plan and consists of two storeys and an attic. The front elevation has a two-window range facing the street, with a projecting one-window range that includes a lower additional 19th-century bay. To the right of the street-facing range is a four-panel part-glazed door with a 19th-century hood, and to the left is a 19th-century bay window with a tiled roof. There is a medieval carved stone head incorporated into the masonry at the far left. The first floor has two-light casement windows with timber lintels, and there is a small roof dormer. The projecting wing features two- and three-light casement windows. There is a single-storey extension to the left of the front range. The building has quoins and stone coped gables with kneelers. Inside, there is an open fireplace and stop-chamfered spine beams.
