Description

Field View is an 18th-century cottage located on the south side of Main Street, Farthingstone. The cottage is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a thatched roof, and has brick end and ridge stacks. It follows a lobby-entry plan. The building is single-storey with an attic, featuring a 3-window front. A 2-panel door, partly glazed, is set within a timber architrave frame, with a 20th-century hood extending over a canted bay to the right. To the left of the door and at the left end of the facade is a 6-pane window with a timber lintel. Two 2-light 20th-century casement windows are present on the first floor, each paired with an eyebrow dormer. The left gable has a stone coped gable with kneelers. The interior retains stop-chamfered spine beams, along with remnants of an open fireplace and an oven.
