Description
Chale Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with some parts raised in the early 19th century and restored in the 20th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and has a thatched roof. The original layout was a two-unit plan, and the building is a single storey with an attic. The front features a three-window range of casements with glazing bars, all set under wooden lintels. Notably, the center window was originally a door. In the attic, there are three similar casements beneath a large eyebrow dormer. A brick stack is located at one end of the house. There is a 20th-century extension with an entrance at the rear. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a bressumer, a stop-chamfered spine beam, and original roof timbers. A 20th-century swimming pool attached to the rear is not considered of special architectural interest.
