Description

Garden Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a thatched roof. The original design was a two-unit plan. The building is single storey with an attic and has a two-window range of 20th-century casements under wooden lintels. There are two similar casements in the attic, positioned under eyebrow dormers. The central entrance has a 20th-century door, also under a wooden lintel. Brick stacks are located at both ends of the house. A 19th-century extension has been added to the rear. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have an open fireplace with a bressumer.
