Description
Oak Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a thatched and concrete tile roof. The building originally had a two-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front has a four-window range of 20th-century leaded casements set under wooden lintels, with two of the windows having been renewed. The center window was originally the front door, and there is a fire window located at the far right. In the attic, there are two similar casements beneath eyebrow dormers. A brick and stone stack is positioned at one end of the house. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have an open fireplace with a bressumer. An extension to the left of the cottage is not considered to have special architectural interest.
