Description

Floral Cottage is a house, likely dating to the mid-to-late 17th century and restored in the 20th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a thatched roof. The house has a 3-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front elevation has a 3-window range of 20th-century casement windows, each beneath a renewed wooden lintel. Similar casement windows are located in eyebrow dormers in the attic. A 20th-century door, also beneath a wooden lintel, is positioned to the left of the centre of the front. The building features ashlar gable parapets with kneelers, and brick and ashlar stacks are situated at the ridge and end. The interior, which was not inspected, is noted to contain an open fireplace with a bressumer. The cottage is included on the list for its group value.
