Description
Post Box Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century with a 20th-century extension. It is built of regularly coursed limestone and features a thatched roof. The original structure had a two-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front has a three-window range of 20th-century casements under wooden lintels, two of which have been renewed, along with a fire window located to the far right. In the attic, there are three 20th-century leaded casements beneath eyebrow dormers. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and kneelers, with brick and stone stacks at either end. The entrance is through a single-storey, 20th-century extension at the rear. Inside, the room to the right features an open fireplace with a bressumer, and there is a stud screen on the first floor with wattle infill panels. The cottage is included for its group value.
