Description

Thorpe Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 17th century and early 19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. The original layout was a three-unit plan, and the building stands two storeys high with an attic. The main front has a three-window range, with a two-window range to the left that was remodeled and raised in the early 19th century.

The central entrance features a panelled door with an arched fanlight, all set within a wooden surround. The windows are tripartite sash types with glazing bars, positioned under gauged stone heads and adorned with ashlar dressings. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and truncated ashlar stacks. The one-window range to the right is from the late 17th century and includes three-light stone mullion windows with hood moulds. There is a similar two-light window on the far left at ground level, along with a part-glazed door to the right, which is set beneath a wooden lintel. The late 17th century section has lower eaves and ridge lines, with ashlar gable parapets and an ashlar stack that adjoins the early 19th century roof. The quoins between the 17th and 19th century sections are stuccoed. The right gable features a two-light stone mullion attic window. The rear elevation has a 20th-century extension and includes one roof dormer with a leaded casement. The interior has not been inspected.
