Description
No. 18 Church Street is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone and features a pantile roof. The building was originally likely designed as a 2/3-unit lobby-entry plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front has a four-window range of casements with glazing bars, all set beneath wooden lintels. There are three similar casements in the attic, which are located under Lincolnshire dormers, with two of these casements situated under a combined dormer. The central entrance is a plank door, also beneath a wooden lintel. The house has ashlar parapets and kneelers along the lines of the party walls, and a brick and ashlar stack at the ridge. The rear elevation features similar Lincolnshire dormers, one of which has a leaded casement. Although the interior has not been inspected, it likely contains remnants of an open fireplace.
