Description
Church Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed from regular coursed limestone and brick, with part of the exterior rendered, and features a thatched roof. The original layout was a two-unit plan, and the building is single storey with an attic. The front has a two-window range of 19th-century casement windows, which are situated under renewed wooden lintels. Above, there are three similar casements beneath eyebrow dormers in the attic. The central door, which is of 20th-century origin, is also located under a wooden lintel. There are brick stacks at both ends of the house, and the right gable is rendered. A single-storey extension was added to the rear in the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have spine beams. The cottage is included for its group value within the local context.
