Description

Chestnut Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed limestone and features a thatched roof. The original design was a one-unit plan, and the cottage is single storey with an attic. The front has a one-window range with a casement window beneath a wooden lintel. The right gable also has similar windows. The rear elevation includes two 20th-century casement windows and an eyebrow dormer above for the attic. There is a single-storey 19th-century extension at right angles to the main structure, which has a 20th-century porch. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have an open fireplace with a bressumer.
