Description
The Old Friar Public House is a public house dating from the late 17th century. It features regular coursed limestone construction with a thatched roof and has an L-shaped plan. The building is a single storey with an attic, displaying a two-window range of 20th-century casements on the ground floor and leaded casements beneath eyebrow dormers in the attic. There is a central 20th-century plank door and a brick stack at one end. The rear wing is similar in style. Inside, there are remains of an open fireplace with a bressumer and a ceiling beam. The south wing attached to the right is not of special architectural interest. The building is included for its group value.
