Description
No. 52 West Street is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century and was restored in the 20th century. It is built from regularly coursed limestone and features a thatch and concrete tile roof. The original design is a two-unit plan, and the house is single-storey with an attic. The front has a two-window range of 19th-century casements under wooden lintels. In the attic, there are two 20th-century casements with glazing bars, set beneath eyebrow dormers. The central entrance door is also from the 20th century and is located under a wooden lintel. The house has ashlar gable parapets on the right side and stone stacks at the ends. To the right, there is a 20th-century extension that includes a garage door, two 20th-century casements, and a concrete tile roof. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have remains of an open fireplace. This building is included for its group value.
