Description

This is an early 19th-century house on the north side of West Street, Kingscliffe. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and a Welsh-slate roof, arranged in an L-shape. The house has two storeys and a three-window front. The central entrance has a six-panel door with a rectangular fanlight featuring glazing bars, set within a moulded wooden surround incorporating roundels and an open pediment. The eight-pane sash windows have stone lintels with keyblocks and ashlar surrounds. Ashlar gable parapets and a stone stack are visible at the ends of the building. Inside, the window reveals are panelled, and a room to the right of the entrance features arch-headed recesses flanking the chimney breast. A staircase is located in the rear wing, which may have been built earlier.
