Description

Number 68 and attached bakery is a house, originally with a bakery attached, dating from the 17th century and altered in the 18th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a Collyweston slate roof and has an L-shaped plan. The building is two storeys high, with a three-window range of horizontal sliding sash windows at the first floor, set under the eaves. On the ground floor, there is a three-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window to the right, and two 20th-century casement windows under wooden lintels to the centre and left. A 20th-century door, also under a wooden lintel, is located to the right of centre, while a plank door under a wooden lintel provides access to the bakery. Brick stacks are present at the ridge and end. There is a lean-to extension to the right. The interior was not inspected, but it is noted to have ceiling beams.
