Description

The Wheel House is a mid-18th century and 19th century house located on the north side of West Street, Kingscliffe. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a Collyweston slate roof. Originally planned as a two-unit structure, the house now presents an irregular two-window façade. The windows are 19th century casements with wood lintels. A four-panel door, also under a wood lintel, is positioned to the left of centre. Brick and stone stacks are located at the ends of the building. A 20th century casement window has been inserted into the left gable. A rear wing, likely dating to the 19th century, is similarly constructed. The interior has not been inspected. The building was formerly used as the Wheel Inn during the 19th century.
