Description

No. 26 High Street is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is built of squared coursed lias stone and has a plain-tile roof added in the 20th century. The house originally had a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The front features a three-window range of 20th-century casement windows set beneath concrete lintels. There is a central 20th-century door with a hood above it. The gable parapets are made of ashlar stone, and there are three 20th-century roof dormers. Brick stacks are located at each end of the house, and there is a 20th-century extension to the left. The gable on the right side, which abuts the road, includes a fire window. Inside, the room to the right has an open fireplace with a bressumer beam.
