Description

The Old Bakehouse is a late 17th-century bakehouse and house, now combined into a single dwelling. It is constructed of regular coursed lias stone with a thatched roof. The building has a 3-unit plan and two storeys, originally with a 4-window front. The windows are now 19th and 20th-century casements with glazing bars, set beneath wooden lintels. A central 20th-century door and porch have been added. The roof has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, with a brick stack positioned at the ridge and one end. Inside, original features include spine beams with run-out stops and the original roof structure.
