Description
No. 17 High Street is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the early 20th century. It is constructed of squared coursed lias and has an asbestos tile roof. The building originally had a two-unit plan and is two storeys tall. The front features a two-window range of casement windows; the ground floor windows are set under stone lintels with keyblocks, while the first-floor windows are under wooden lintels. There is a fire window on the ground floor to the right. The roof was raised in brick during the early 20th century, and there are brick stacks at both ends. The entrance is located at the rear. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have an open fireplace. This building is included for its group value.
